ODS Treasurer's Report for 2002

I am pleased to present the Treasurer's Report of the Ontario Daylily Society for the year ending December 31, 2002.

The CanAm Classic continues to be an exceptional value for a major daylily event. Registration fees are targeted to "break even" rather than create a profit.

In May over $1600 ($1025. US) worth of plants were distributed to members as part of our continuing baby-sitting program.

The Annual Picnic in August was well attended and was followed the next day by a Garden Judges clinic hosted by Tom Rood.

Our final major event of the year was the Fall Meeting and again the focus was to provide an outstanding event at "Break Even" prices.

In addition, several smaller meetings were held at the RBG.

ODS membership has increased from 200 in 2001 to a current total of 240. This is a solid endorsement of our club and it's policy of giving members real value.

This increased activity created a very small loss for the year of $770.

A major portion of the loss ($480) can be attributed to the under utilisation of the chartered bus to the picnic Many people indicated that they would use this service and then did not do so.

The weak Canadian dollar resulted in higher than usual foreign exchange costs which also contributed to the loss.

At year end our balance stood at $11,704.71.

There are no outstanding debts.

This is my Treasurer's Report for 2002.
