Fall Meeting 1998 Photos (Scarborough, Ontario) Speaker Sydney Eddison, of Connecticut, is shown in the first photograph. Author of "A Passion for Daylilies", a treasured book of all hem enthusiasts, Sydney has also published many other respected garden books. She spoke to the group about the history of daylilies and her own wonderful garden, accompanied with personal garden slides. A real treat! The second photo includes Ra Hansen, of Lady Bug Daylilies in Florida, who was also at the podium, her talk entitled "Daylilies Done for Fun!". Her presence will be remembered and cherished for a long time. Ra's hybrids such as Night Beacon, Tuscawilla Tigress, Calgary Stampede, Missouri Memories and spider Yabba Dabba Doo are growing well in many of our Northern gardens. Beside Ra is hybridizer Ted Petit , of Le Petit Jardin in Florida/Ontario, who held a hands-on workshop on converting diploids to tetraploids.
